1、 Technical description: Host
1.1- Instrument composition
The composition of the RA3 series articulated arm measuring machine is shown in Figure 2-1. During operation, it consists of 1- fixed platform, 2- magnetic gauge holder (or suction cup, tripod), 3- measuring machine host, 4- computer and software, and 5- measuring head. When measuring, it must be stably fixed on the platform (not required to be horizontal but required to maintain the relative position stability of the measuring machine and the measured workpiece throughout the measurement process). The measuring machine host is fixed by suction cups or screws, and the portable computer is connected to the host through a USB signal line. The software completes the collection and processing of measurement data and produces measurement reports.

1.2- Measurement principle
The measuring machine consists of three rigid arms, six movable joints, and one measuring head. Three arms are interconnected, one of which is a fixed arm installed on any base to support all components of the measuring machine, and the other two movable arms can move to any position in space to meet measurement needs. One of them is the middle arm, and the other is the end arm with a measuring head installed at this end. The fixed arm is connected to the second middle arm, the second end arm is connected to the third end arm, and the third end arm is connected to the contact probe in a joint manner, allowing for spatial rotation. Each movable joint is equipped with a mutually perpendicular rotation angle sensor, which can measure the position of each arm and probe in space. The rotation center of each joint and the corresponding active arm form a coordinate system, and the rotation angle, also known as the polar angle, is measured by sensors. The distance between the rotation centers of the joints at both ends of the active arm is the polar diameter length of the polar coordinate. It can be seen that the measurement system is composed of three connected polar coordinate systems. When the measuring head contacts the measured object, the measurement system can provide the three-dimensional position information of the measuring head in space. When the measuring head contacts the measured object at different parts, the actual value of the measured parameter is given by the computer based on the established measurement mathematical model.

Multiple installation components and Renishaw's full range of probes are available for selection, making probe replacement simple;
Has multiple installation methods; Tripods, magnetic watch holders (magnetic suction cups), and U-shaped clips can achieve rapid on-site measurements;
